RUBÍ BRIONES - PROJECT DIRECTOR OF USIL AMBASSADORS

Estoy completando mi cuarto año como estudiante de Administración en Turismo en USIL y también estoy haciendo una especialización en Cultura. Hablo español, inglés y portugués de manera fluida. Mi primera experiencia laboral fue como Cast Member en Walt Disney World. Practico capoeira desde el 2014 y me encanta conocer gente de distintas culturas, viajar, bailar, nadar, aprender nuevos idiomas, ir al cine y pasar tiempo con mis amigos.

Soy parte del Equipo USIL Ambassadors desde sus inicios en el 2014, deseaba estar en este club ya que la idea de ayudar a las personas, aprender de otras culturas y representar al Vicerrectorado Internacional de la USIL me entusiasma y considero que no solo enriquece mi experiencia académica sino que también me ayuda a desarrollar mis habilidades de comunicación y liderazgo.

En el periodo 2015-I, me convertí en la Directora de Proyectos y fue realmente un reto agradable y  genial, me sentí honrada por recibir una gran responsabilidad y hasta ahora continúo trabajando arduamente para cumplir mis deberes. Pienso que los Ambassadors son los que hacen que el club sea exitoso cada semestre y en cada proyecto que tenemos, son de gran valor para el club; así que manejar un grupo tan destacado me hace sentir afortunada. 

Además de disfrutar esta oportunidad esta magnífica oportunidad para mi experiencia de vida, he conocido seres humanos increíbles de todas partes del mundo; ahora tengo nuevas relaciones de amistad sólidas y recuerdos que se quedará en mi mente y en mi corazón para siempre. Me siento muy feliz cuando comparto mi cultura y parte de mi país con otros estudiantes internacionales y también cuando aprendo de sus culturas y países.

I am currently completing my 4th year as a Tourism Administration student at USIL and I am also completing an specialization in Culture. I speak Spanish, English and Portuguese fluently. My first job experience was at Walt Disney World as a Cast Member. I practice capoeira since 2014 and I love meeting people from different cultures, taking trips, dancing, swimming, learning new languages, going to the movies and spending time with my friends. 

I am part of the USIL Ambassador’s Team since it all started in 2014, I wanted to be in this club because the idea of helping people, learning from other cultures and representing the USIL Vicepresidency for International Relations really excites me and I consider that it not only enriches my academic experience, but also helps me develop my leadership and communication skills. 

In 2015 – I, I became Project Director and it was a really amusing challenge to me, I felt honored of being given such a great responsibility and until today I am still working hard to fulfill all my duties. I believe the Ambassadors are the ones that make the club succeed every semester and in every project that we have, they are great assets for the Club, so managing such an amazing group makes me feel lucky.

Besides enjoying this awesome opportunity for my life experience, I have met incredible human beings from all around the world; I have new strong friendships in my life now and memories that will stay in my mind and heart forever. I feel really happy when I share my culture and part of my country with other international students and when I learn from theirs too.

LUCÍA OCAÑA - PRESIDENT

LUCÍA OCAÑA - PRESIDENT OF USIL AMBASSADORS

Mi nombre es Lucía Ocaña. Tengo 22 años y estudio Relaciones Internacionales. Soy la Presidente de USIL Ambassadors desde el ciclo 2014-02 y he tenido el gusto de ver cómo este proyecto se ha ido consolidando y ha podido influir positivamente tanto en los alumnos internacionales como en los alumnos de la USIL. Lo que me gusta del Club Ambassadors es que, desde un inicio, me ha permitido representar a mi país y a mi universidad en un contexto internacional, así como entrar en contacto con personas de diferentes culturas. Es muy gratificante tanto por el servicio que damos como por la experiencia que recibimos. En mi tiempo libre me gusta leer, escuchar música y aprender nuevos idiomas. En un futuro cercano, me encantaría hacer un intercambio o mis estudios de posgrado en un país asiático, de preferencia China o Corea del Sur.

My name is Lucía Ocaña. I’m 22 and I study International Relations. I’m the President of USIL Ambassadors since the 2014-02 period. During this time, I’ve seen the project grow and positively influence both international students and USIL students. What I like the most about the Ambassadors Club is that it has given me the chance to represent my country and university in an international context, as well as to meet new people from different cultures. It’s very gratifying due to the service we give and the experience we earn. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music and learning new languages. In the future, I would love to have an exchange experience or to study for my master’s degree in an Asian country, especially in China or South Korea.
