I am
currently completing my 4th year as a Tourism Administration student at USIL
and I am also completing an specialization in Culture. I speak Spanish, English
and Portuguese fluently. My first job experience was at Walt Disney World as a
Cast Member. I practice capoeira since 2014 and I love meeting people from
different cultures, taking trips, dancing, swimming, learning new languages, going
to the movies and spending time with my friends.
Hola, soy Geraldine pero me dicen Geri. Tengo 22 años de edad y en este momento curso el 10mo. ciclo de la carrera de Comunicaciones. Vengo formando parte del club desde que se creó hace un año y formo parte de la Directiva como la encargada de la organización de eventos y Diseño de artes para nuestros medios digitales. Esta experiencia en el club ha enriquecido mi formación profesional bilingue, ya que, además de poner en práctica los conocimientos que he adquirido en mi formación académica, también he podido crecer como ser humano conociendo las necesidades que tienen personas de diferentes culturas y poder comunicarme con ellos directamente a través de su propio idioma. Ser parte del club me ha abierto muchas oportunidades de desarrollo personal, y valoro todo el apoyo que el Vicerrectorado Internacional nos ha brindado desde que se ha iniciado el club. He tenido la oportunidad de realizar dos Disney International Collegue Programs (2013 - 2015) donde he aprendido del funcionamiento de una de las compañías de entretenimiento más grandes del mundo, y donde lo que sueñes, lo puedes lograr. Por otro lado, me encanta viajar, leer, escuchar música (cosas que hago cuando viajo), realizar videos o simplemente pasar el rato con amigos o conmigo misma. Este año tuve la gran oportunidad de obtener una beca llamada Kookmin Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp que se llevó acabo en Seúl, Corea del Sur. Esta beca me permitió abrir mis horizontes y aprender de cada uno de los participantes respecto a sus deseos de ser un emprendedor, además de desarrollas ideas de negocio que sean para beneficio de una comunidad. En un futuro cercano espero poder seguir conociendo diferentes culturas y poder estudiar un máster en algún país Europeo. Sin embargo, Asia y el Medio Oriente son países que están aún entre mi lista de países por terminar de visitar...

I'm Geraldine but everyone calls me Geri. I'm 22 years old and now I'm in the 10th cycle of Comunnications. I've been part of the club since its inception a year ago; in addition, I'm part of the Directive as a responsible for organizing events and the design of arts published inour digital media. This experience in the club has enriched my bilingual professional development; because, besides putting into practice the knowledge I have gained in my education, I have also been able to grow as a human being, learning from the needs of these people who come from different cultures. Being part of the club has opened many opportunities for my personal development, and I appreciate all the help that the International Office of USIL has given us since the club started. I have had also the opportunity to participate in two Disney International Collegue Programs (2013 - 2015) where I learned how one of the largest entertaiment companies in the world works, and where all your dreams come true. On the other hand, I love traveling, reading, listening to music (things I do when I travel), make videos or just hang out with friend or myself. This year I had the great opportunity to get a full scholarship called "Kookmin Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp" that took place in Seoul, South Korea. This scholarship allowed me to open my horizons and learn from each participant about their desire to be an entrepreneur, in addition, to develop business ideas that are for the benefit of a community. In the near future, I hope I can continue learning from another cultures and to study a master in any European country. However, countries in Asia and The Middles East are still among my list of countries to visit...
Mi nombre es Lucía Ocaña. Tengo 22 años y estudio Relaciones Internacionales. Soy la Presidente de USIL Ambassadors desde el ciclo 2014-02 y he tenido el gusto de ver cómo este proyecto se ha ido consolidando y ha podido influir positivamente tanto en los alumnos internacionales como en los alumnos de la USIL. Lo que me gusta del Club Ambassadors es que, desde un inicio, me ha permitido representar a mi país y a mi universidad en un contexto internacional, así como entrar en contacto con personas de diferentes culturas. Es muy gratificante tanto por el servicio que damos como por la experiencia que recibimos. En mi tiempo libre me gusta leer, escuchar música y aprender nuevos idiomas. En un futuro cercano, me encantaría hacer un intercambio o mis estudios de posgrado en un país asiático, de preferencia China o Corea del Sur.
